John Thomas Selby, Jr., 53, of Charlotte went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 19, 2002. A service of remembrance to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, December 22, at 2:00 PM in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service.
John was born February 10, 1949 son of the late John Thomas Selby, Sr. and Evelyn Walker Selby. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of CPCC. Mr. Selby was a Technical Sales Rep for M. Dohmen Company. John and his wife Linda enjoyed camping, deep-sea fishing, golf, movies, cooking and entertaining friends at their home.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Lisa Rothenberg and her husband Howard, Amy, and Emily Selby, all of Charlotte; two brothers, Kenneth Selby of Sacramento, CA and Gregory Selby of Longview, WA; the light of his life, his granddaughters, Chloe and Maggie Rothenberg; many nieces and nephews, a host of extended family and close friends; and also, his ever-faithful side kick, his dog, Pooh.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale St., Memphis, TN 28100.
