Rev. J. W. Strange Succumbs Nov. 1

Funeral services for Rev. J. W. Strange, 60 years, 1 month, and 18 days of age, were held at the Beech Creek Church Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2, 1943, with the Rev. R. M. Doughty in charge. Rev. Strange died suddenly Monday.

Surviving are his wife, and the following children: Mrs. I. J. McCartney, Mrs. Pearl Long, Olla, La., Mrs. Julian McCartney and Miss Katherine Strange, Route Two, Winnfield; and five grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, Will Strange, Olla, Ernest Strange, Colfax, and Chris Strange, Route Two; and two sisters, Mrs. M. H. Wiggins, Route Two; and Mrs. Lottie Wiggins, Winnsboro.

The deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isom Strange. On July 24, 1907 he married Miss Mary Emrick and to this union were born three children. After her death he married Miss Lucy Lewis, and to this union was born one child.

He became a member of the Beech Creek Baptist Church early in youth and was ordained to the ministry October 1, 1939.

Funeral Services Rev. J. W. Strange Held November 1

Rev. John William Strange, 60, Route 2, Winnfield, died suddenly at the family residence, November 1.

Funeral services were held at the Beech Creek Baptist Church Tuesday, November 2, at 3 p.m. Interment was in the Beech Creek Cemetery, with Rev. R. M. Doughty officiating.

Rev. Strange is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ina McCartney, Olla; Mrs. Inez McCartney, Winnfield; Mrs. Pearl Long, Pollock; and Catherine Strange; three brothers, two sisters, and five grandchildren.
