John W. Rector

Services for John W. Rector, 77, of Lufkin, were held April 14, 1998 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Graveside services were under the auspices of Burke Masonic Lodge No. 833, A.F.&A.M.

Mr. Rector had lived in Lufkin for 22 years and was retired from Champion International, Pasadena, Texas division. He was a member of the Burke United Methodist Church; the Burke Masonic Lodge, No. 833, A.F. &A.M.; Order of the Eastern Star, and Burke Chapter No. 1098. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 84th Infantry Division during World War II.

Survivors: wife, Wilma Rector; son, John F. Rector; former daughter-in-law, Gwen Mefford; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Karen and Chris Roberts and Kelly and Jeremy Hinds; great-grandson, Jordan Hinds; brother and sister-in-law, E. D. and Jeanette Rector; sister, Orene Waller; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Harold Crager; and numerous nieces and nephews.
