Graveside services for Mr. Johnnie Ray Oxner of West Monroe, LA will be 10:00am Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Northeast Louisiana Veterans’ Cemetery in Rayville, LA with Rev. Rick Baker officiating. Interment will directly follow at the cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.

Mr. Oxner was born April 4, 1938 in Grayson, LA and passed from this life on May 7, 2017 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 79. He was a resident of West Monroe and an ordained Baptist minister. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ola Oxner; his brothers, Frank Oxner and William Lee Oxner; and his sisters, Ruth Fant and Ethel McMullen.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Hilburn Oxner; one daughter, Sandra Oxner Bennet and husband Kevin; one son, John Matthew Oxner; one granddaughter, Summer Bennett Holloway and husband Adam; two grandsons, Zachary Kevin Bennett and wife Lauren and John Luke Oxner; two great-granddaughters, Macey Ann Bennett and Olivia Louise Holloway; one great-grandson, Robert Nathaniel Bennett; two sisters, Margaret Crowell and Marie Murphy; one brother, Charles Oxner; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
