Johnny C. Girlinghouse

Johnny C. Girlinghouse, 71, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 in a local hospital.
A retired machinist working with Conoco for 30 years, Johnny was a member of USW local # 13-555. He was a veteran serving his country in the Army. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and an avid deer hunter as well as a proud member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Girlinghouse of Vinton; children and spouses Denise Chandler (Robert) of Vinton, Keith Girlinghouse (Jennifer) of Vinton and Rod Girlinghouse (Mavis) of Sulphur; grandchildren Jared, Jacob and Jack Chandler, Kylah Girlinghouse and Shalanda Abel; siblings Elsie Young of Bridge City, Mary Carrier of Sulphur, JoAnn Putman of Sulphur, M.J. Girlinghouse of Mauriceville; Melvin Girlinghouse of Sulphur and Ralph Girlinghouse of Bryan, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Bertha Girlinghouse; and his siblings, Bernice Gibson and Bud Girlinghouse.
His funeral will be at 10:00 am, Monday, November 22, 2010 in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Rev. Gerard Little will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Cormier Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home Sunday from noon until 8 pm and from 8 am on Monday.
His pallbearers will be Keith Girlinghouse, Rod Girlinghouse, Robert Chandler, Jared Chandler, Jacob Chandler and Tim McDaniel. Jack Chandler will serve as honorary pall bearer.
