Joseph Cropper III

Memorial Services for Mr. Joseph Cropper III, affectionately known to family and friends as ``T-Joe'', 71, will be held at noon Tuesday in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial at a later date in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Cropper, a resident of Opelousas, was born March 8, 1927, and died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a former Marine, owner/operator of a family grocery/filling station, a barber and a retired employee of Brown and Root.

Survivors include: two sons, Thomas ``Bubba'' Robin and Donald ``Bugga'' Cropper; two daughters, Toni Robin McKinley and Terri Cropper Dembeck; eight grandchildren, Christi, Donald ``Cotton'', Marcy, Natalie, Stephen, Valerie, Justin and Matthew; five great-grandchildren, Kaezic, Katelyn, Alison, Michael Joseph and Abrahm; five brothers, Willie Cropper, Reggie Cropper, Jimmy Darby, Terry Darby and Wilson Darby; and two sisters, Ethel Darby Hidalgo and Melba Darby Roebuck. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cropper was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cropper Jr. and his mother, Ella Mae Darby.
