Joseph Edwin McCarty, 63, died at his home, 50 Hyman lane, at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. He was a retired painter.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flora Taylor McCarty, three sons, Davis E. McCarty of Germany, Joseph L. McCarty of Fort Dix, N. J., and Joseph N. McCarty of Fort Campbell, Ky.; six daughters, Mrs. Josephine LaCaze, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Marjorie Lasyone of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. L. A. Merle [sic LaMerle] Arnold of Winnfield, Miss Caroline Ann McCarty of Baton Rouge, and Miss Margaret Ann McCarty and Miss Dolly Ruth McCarty, both of Pineville; his step-mother, Mrs. Susie McCarty of Turkey Creek; a brother, J. B. McCarty of Pineville; a half-brother, Howard McCarty of Houston, Texas; two half-sisters, Mrs. Barbara Hazleton, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mitchell cemetery at Anacoco.
