Orange Resident Is Victim Of Heart Attack

ORANGE, Feb. 7. -- Joseph Freeman (Nuddie) Morris, 29, died of a heart attack today at 2:30 a.m. at his home in Cove addition.

Mr. Morris is a native of Cameron, La., and had lived in Orange 27 years. He attended the Orange public schools, and was a member of the Baptist church and was a former longshoreman. At the time of his death, he was a carpenter at Weaver shipyards.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Ella Morris; one daughter, Mary Lee Morris; two stepsons, Clyde and Charles Neighbor; his mother, Mrs. Grace Morris; three brothers, D. T., Melton and Raymond Morris; and four sisters, Mrs. Ira Thomas, Mrs. Elbert Scott [, Mrs. Fred Thomas] and Mrs. Tom Rumsey. All survivors are of Orange, except Mrs. Rumsey, who lives in Sulphur, La.

Funeral services will be at the family residence in Cove addition Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery under direction of Wheeler funeral home.
