Died.
At the family residence near Columbia, La., on July 20, 1912, at 12:15 o'clock, Mrs. Josephine Meredith, loving consort of Thomas A. Mhredith [sic Meredith], aged 45 years, ten months and eleven days.
The subject of this sketch was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Thomas of this town.
Mrs. Meredith was born and reared in ward nine of this parish, where, in early womanhood she was happily married to her devoted and ever faithful husband who survives her, and who is prostrated and heart-broken in the loss of his wife.
Five children were born of this union, all of whom were at the bedside of their mother when her spirit left the body and winged its way back to the God who gave it.
Mrs. Meredith united in early life with the church of her choice, and to the day of her death, lived a consistent Christian life. Considerate and kind hearted, she never grew tired of doing good, and the many kind and loving deeds of her life will live long in the memory of her legion of friends, who knew her but to love her. She is gone, gone to her eternal reward where the spirits of the just are made perfect, and where sickness, sorrow and death is unknown.
To the bereaved and heart-broken family, we extend profound condolence.
