MRS. JOSEPHINE CHILDREE ANSWERS DEATH'S CALL AT THE AGE OF 74 YEARS

Following an illness of several weeks at the Sams Hospital at Reynolds, death claimed the life of Mrs. Josephine Whatley Childree Jan. 13th.

The deceased observed her 74th birthday just one week prior to her death, the date of her birth having been given as of Jan. 5, 1874. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas J. and Mrs. Laura Lucious Whatley. She was a native and life-long resident of Macon county.

She is survived by four sons, Ernest Childree, Reynolds; Ray Childree, Palatka, Fla.; Edmond Childree, Moultrie, and Earl Childree, Oglethorpe; three sisters, Mrs. O. H. Simmons, Oglethorpe; Mrs. W. J. Barfield, Thomaston; and Miss Victoria Whatley, Norman Park; and a brother, T. D. Whatley, Oglethorpe.

Funeral for Mrs. Whatley [sic Childre] was held Saturday afternoon at Pleasant Grove Baptist church of which she was a member, Rev. Carl Ayers, pastor, officiating assisted by Rev. J. B. Strickland, with Goddard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
