Mr. J. C. Harris Dies Sunday P.M. Of Heart Attack

Funeral Services Held Wed. Morning 11 O'clock Lebanon Baptist Church

Mr. Joshua Calvin Harris died of a heart attack in the yard near his home about 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

He was apparently in good health when he walked out of the house Sunday afternoon. His lifeless body was found by member of the family a short time later a short distance from the house.

Mr. Harris was born in Taylor county March 13, 1904, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Harris. He spent his entire life in this county and was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church. Mr. Harris was engaged in farmer [sic farming] and was owner and operator of the Harris Barber Shop in Butler.

Funeral for Mr. Harris was conducted Wednesday (yesterday) 11 a.m. at the Lebanon Baptist church with Rev. T. H. Brown, the pastor, officiating. Interment was in Mt. Pisgah cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Messrs Jack, Jessie, Carson, Robert, James H. and Carlton Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Laverne Harris; three sons, James, Calvin and Gerry Harris; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Jo Windham, Glennis Harris and Margaret Harris; two grandsons, Thermond Windham Jr., and Wayne Windham, Jr.; one granddaughter, Bonnice Harris; one sister, Mrs Jimmy Green; four half sisters, Mrs. Carlton Jordan, Mrs. C[a]therine Mott, Mrs. Sara Young and Mrs. Martha Ray Nixon.

Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
