Joy W. Peeples

Funeral services for Joy Watson Peeples, 75, of Yazoo City, a homemaker, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel, Yazoo City. She died of cancer Sept. 27, 2003, at her home. Burial will be in Itta Bena Cemetery, Itta Bena.

She was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Morgan City to Clyde Alton Watson and Maude Lee. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death her parents and a daughter, Paula Diane Peeples.

Survivors include her husband, Peyton P. Peeples Jr. of Yazoo City; two daughters and sons-in law, Marsha Kay Williams and Trent Williams of Yazoo City, and Terri Anne and Mike Hancock of Bentonia; three sons and daughters-in-law, Peyton Paul III and Diane Peeples of Durango, Colo., Mark Stephen and Gaye Peeples of West Monroe, La., and Timothy Michael and Lisa Peeples of Yazoo City; 17 grandchildren, Jenni Foster (Mike) Germain of Bentonia, Dennis Trent Williams Jr. of Long Beach, Donald Alan (Amy) Foster of Yazoo City, Shaeffer Ann Williams of Pearl, Samuel Nathan McKinley of Durango, Colo., Amanda Cameron McKinley of Washington, D.C., Peyton Paul Peeples IV of Durango, Colo., Mark Stephen Peeples Jr. of West Monroe, La., Stephanie Joy Peeples of West Monroe, La., Jason Dwayne Hancock of Bentonia, Phillip John Williams Jr. of Indianola, Teri Nicole Hancock of Bentonia, Jason Taylor Potter of Yazoo City, Joseph Aaron Potter and Robert Keith Potter, both of Wayside, and Kristie Brean Peeples and Kayla Christine Waley, both of Franklinton, La.; six great-grandchildren, Michael Steven Germain Jr. of Bentonia, Elizabeth Williams and Bryce Vanrhysenham, both of Pearl, Keely Grace Foster of Yazoo City, Trevor Bland Williams of Long Beach and Aarin Michael Hancock of Bentonia; one sister, Deborah Gail Potter of Greenville; and one brother, Bobby Ray Watson of Tunica.

Pallbearers will be Will Williams, Trent Williams, Mike Hancock, Dan Williams, Allen Potter and Michael Germain. The Rev. Richard Colwell and the Rev. Ralph Fuller will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Building Fund, Calvary Baptist Church, 1408 Jackson Ave., Yazoo City, MS 39194.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
