Joy W. Caston
Joy Whittington Caston, 78, of Summit, died Jan. 25, 2004, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Services were 10 a.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb. The Rev. Troy Mercer, assisted by the Rev. Bobby Greer, officiated. Burial was in Whittington Cemetery in Summit.
Mrs. Caston was born Dec. 18, 1925, in McComb to Frank and Ola Whittington.
She was retired and was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church.
Mrs. Caston was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius T. Caston; two brothers, Frank and Alan Whittington; and a sister, Jo Thornhill.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Julius R.and Kathy Caston of Gloster, and Ricky and Diana Caston of Summit; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda and Wayne Wallace of Smithdale and Elise Cort of Houston, Texas; a brother-in-law, Clip Thornhill of Columbia; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Roy McKey of Lake Charles, La.; a sister-in-law, Darris Whittington of McComb; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Wilkinson, Hank Wallace, Artie Faucett, Grant ``Freddie'' Nunnery, Chris Wroten and Mike Honea. Honorary pallbearer was Thomas Etheridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tangipahoa Baptist Church.
