Joyce Cruse Fain
Services for Mrs. Joyce C. Fain, 88 of Winnsboro, LA will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Rev. Bobby Brown and Rev. William Nash officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Cedar Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Fain was born in the Lone Cedar community near Winnsboro on May 19, 1924. She attended and graduated from Winnsboro High School, then worked at a local department store before starting a long career in the medical field. She worked at Rogers Clinic and at the Winnsboro Sanitarium, Riley's Nursing Home, and retired from the Franklin Parish Health Unit long after retirement age. She was an Eastern Star and the 1995 receiptant of the “Older Worker of the Year” award of Franklin Parish.
Mrs. Fain was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas M. Cruse and Edna Cruse, brothers; Benton, Reggie, Lemmie, Monroe, and Jack Cruse, and sisters; Marie Ross and Marvee Chesney.
Survivors include:
Daughters: Charlotte DeMoss and husband Lee.
Sons: Wilbur Craig Fain.
Grandsons: Jory and Jesse Fain.
Granddaughter: Lacey Davis.
Great-Grandchildren: Tammy, Angelina, and Jackson.
Numerous nieces and nephews that all had a special place in her heart.
Pallbearers are: Don Riser, Bill Russell, Doug Moore, Lee DeMoss, Russell DeMoss, and Cecil Ruiz.
Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews.
Special thanks to Nursecare and Amedisys Hospice for their love and care.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or any Cancer Research Center.
