FLORENCE -- Joyce Dee Kemp Lawson, 72, a dietician, of 204 Lewis St., died of heart failure Monday in Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, with burial in Florence Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A Leake County native, Mrs. Lawson had lived in Florence for 45 years. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Church Choir at the First Baptist Church of Florence and teacher of the toddlers Sunday school class for 12 years. She was a dietician for the Florence schools for 42 years.

Survivors include: son, Sam K. Lawson of Florence, daughter, Betty Jo Lawson Bell of Covington, La.; sisters, Oneda Boydston of Jackson and Bonnie McBeth of Carthage; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Florence.
