Judy (Ona Mae) Cox
Shreveport, LA -- Mrs. Judy Cox, was born Dec. 7, 1921 and passed away on February 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband James Cox; parents, Alvin and Arizona Erskine; and grandson, Benjamin Folks.
Surviving are daughters, Dianne (Gary) Folks of Shreveport and Linda (Leo) Kordsmeier of Conway, Arkansas; sister, Lois (John) Wise of Asheville N.C.; grandchildren, Austin, Lauren and Lindsey Folks, James, Jeffery, Jennifer and John Michael Kordsmeier; and six great grandchildren.
Judy came to Shreveport after graduating Valedictorian from Winnsboro High School. James decided Ona Mae was not the name of a city girl so friends always knew her as Judy. She was bookkeeper/hostess for Wholesale Tire until she and James retired. She enjoyed belonging to St. John's Queens Workers, square and round dancing clubs and supporting James' work in the North Shreveport Lions Club and Broadmoor Knights of Columbus. Her family and friends will always remember her quiet elegance and the wonderful food she prepared.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26th, at Osborn Funeral Home with Deacon Homer Tucker officiating. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27th, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Pike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Grace Home, 1035 Margaret Place, Shreveport, LA 71101.
