KANNAPOLIS - Mrs. Judy Crapps Gainey, 48, of 203 York Ave., Kannapolis, NC, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, NC, following a sudden illness.
Funeral is 4 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 1997, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Kannapolis, with the Rev. James Pauley and the Rev. Kevin Munson officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at Lady's Funeral Home, and will make headquarters at the residence.
Born August 3, 1948, in San Antonio, TX, she was a daughter of William ``Bill'' Rowe of New Braunfels, TX and the late Dorothy Turner Crapps. She was employed at Wal-Mart in Kannapolis, NC, as the Department Manager of the Infant and Little Girls.
She had lived in this area since 1981. She was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School, San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Gainey Wise on May 18, 1997.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Gainey of the home; father, William ``Bill'' Rowe; and one sister, Jeanette Karn, both of New Braunfels, TX; three brothers, Van Crapps and Grady Crapps, both of San Antonio, TX, and Bruce Crapps of Hope, AR; and one granddaughter, Kelsey DeLane Wise of Kannapolis, NC.
