Funeral Rites For Mrs. Julia Emmons Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Ann Emmons, 91, of Sikes, were held at 1:30
p.m. Saturday in Sikes Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie James officiating
and the Rev. Thomas W. Cox assisting.
Burial was in the Sikes Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.
Mrs. Emmons died Thursday, November 7, 1968 in Parkview Estate Nursing Home in
Winnfield after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Sikes and was a member
of the Sikes Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Reuel Emmons of Sikes, R. G. Emmons of
Shreveport, Marvin Emmons of Winnfield, and Roy Emmons of Lake Charles; three
daughters, Mrs. I. J. White of Lake Charles, Mrs. Jessie Hatcher and Mrs.
Homer Parker of Winnfield; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
