Julia Ard Shaw Madeley Lenertz

Judy Lenertz passed away Sunday morning, February 19, 2006 in Austin. Judy was born in Dallas, Texas, April 6,1921. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rhea Ard Shaw, and her brother J.L. Shaw.

She graduated from North Dallas High School and Texas Woman's University in Denton. Judy taught Home Economics at Seagoville High School. She married Henry Madeley- teacher, coach and principal. They had three children. In later years, Judy married Jim ``Honey Bear'' Moynihan of Lufkin, Texas.

She worked at the VA, the Lufkin Paper Mill, and the Texas Department on Aging. She also did volunteer work.

A talented musician, Judy played the piano beautifully and was a church organist for many years. She was also a master bridge player and lover of all games - especially family poker games. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and dancing. Her children also say that she could play a ``mean'' boogie-woogie on the piano.

Judy married Oscar Lenertz in Austin on March 6, 1999. Many wonderful days of laughter and love followed. Oscar describes Judy as a ``wonderful, loving wife.'' Judy's family describes Oscar as an angel who cared lovingly for Judy as her health failed.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Oscar Lenertz, age 91. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Shaw of Dallas; son, Hank Madeley and wife, Suzann, Austin; son, Jim Madeley and wife, Corene, Temple; daughter, Martha Rhea Cervenka and husband, Richard, Austin; grandchildren, Madelon McGrenera and husband, Ryan; Marc Madeley and wife, Dena; Brian Madeley; Darren Madeley; Richard ``Scooby'' Madeley Cervenka; and great-granddaughter, Reese Anne McGrenera.

Mr. Lenertz and loved ones extend their sincere gratitude to Father Paul McCallum for his support. His presence offered strength and comfort to all.

Mr. Lenertz and families also thank Dr. Alan Sonstein, Barbara and Linda; friends and staff of Englewood Estates, friends and staff at Carestone Assisted Living, staff at Regency Village Care Center, and Hospice of Austin. Judy's children and families wish to thank Oscar for his dedication and unwavering love and support. She was cherished.

Friends may make donations to their favorite charities.

Grandchildren will be servings as pallbearers.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, at Wilke-Clay- Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, at Assumption Mausoleum.
