Mrs. J. H. Smith Dies Early Today
Mrs. Julia Howard Smith, 84, of Minter City died today at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Kimbro Chapel, Marks, with Rev. Smith Windham officiating. Interment will be in Marks Cemetery. Wilson and Knight is in charge.
She was the widow of S. T. Smith. She was a member of Belan Baptist Church near Marks.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Hallie King, Mrs. Lottie Castle, both of Memphis; Mrs. Marvin Stowers, Schlater; Mrs. Grace Love, Greenwood; Mrs. Luther Raymond [sic Rayman], Minter City; two sons, L. B. Smith and L. W. Smith, both of Marks; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Baker Nabors and a niece, Mrs. B. Spradley, Van Nuys, Calif.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The body will lie in state at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home overnight.
