Mrs. Julia Meredith Of Sikes Community Claimed By Death
Mrs. Julia Meredith died at her home in Sikes last Tuesday at ten o'clock after a serious illness of several months. Mrs. Meredith has been confined to her bed for the past five or six months, her conditions grew worse last Saturday morning. Though being very low she seemed to know and realize everything until just a few minutes before her death.
Mrs. Meredith, before her marriage, was Mrs. [sic Miss] Julia Fluitt, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Sam Fluitt. She was born in Caldwell Parish and was 54 years of age. She was the mother of 13 children, 9 of whom are still living.
Mrs. Meredith leaves her husband and the following children to mourn her passing: Mr. C. A. Meredith. The children are: L. W. Meredith, C. A. Meredith, Jr., Bural, Alfred, Mrs. J. L. Medaries, Mrs. W. N. Johnston, Norma, and Ruby Mae, and G. C. Meredith of Colfax.

Mrs. C. A. Meredith of Sikes Succumbs to Month's Illness
Mrs. C. A. Meredith, age 54, died at her home in Sikes, Tuesday morning, May 31, after a protracted illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted by W. S. Emmons and interment made in the Wright Cemetery the following day.
Before her marriage thirty six years ago to C. A. Meredith, she was Miss Julia Fluitt, daughter of the late Dr. Sam Fluitt of Caldwell Parish.
Mrs. Meredith is survived by her husband, C. A. Meredith, and nine children, G. C. Meredith of Colfax, Mrs. J. L. Mederies, Mrs. W. N. Johnson, Alfred, Bural, Norma, C. A., Jr., L. W. and Rubie [sic Ruby] Mae Meredith of Sikes.
