MRS. M. L. MECUM [sic MECOM] TAKEN IN DEATH MONDAY MORNING

Funeral Is Conducted at Columbia Church This Afternoon

Mrs. M. L. Mecum [sic Mecom], 54, died Monday at her home in Columbia. She had been enjoying her usually good health up until an early hour yesterday when she was suddenly seized with a stroke of paralysis which caused her death in about four hours' time.

She was the wife of M. L. Mecum [sic Mecom], who for many years and at the present time is serving as clerk of court of Caldwell parish, and was from an oldtime and prominent family in Columbia and vicinity.

She leaves besides her husband the following children: Mrs. Margaret Lynn of Columbia, and Mrs. Julius [sic Julia] Sherman of Baton Rouge also William Mecum [sic Mecom] of Columbia. Three sisters and two brothers also survive.

The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. R. F. Harrell, pastor, officiating. There was a large attendance and numerous floral offerings.

Interment was made in the cemetery at Columbia.
