Julian John Bednarek

Julian John Bednarek, 80, of Washington, died February 27, 2017 in Navasota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill, with Father Jozef Musiol, SDS-JCD, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Julian John Bednarek was born in Brenham on September 29, 1936 to Steve and Lucille Jozwiak Bednarek. After serving his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, he was employed as a pump mechanic in the oil production industry.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Fitzgerald Bednarek; son, Steve Bednarek of Arlington; step-daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Gary Gregory of Lake Jackson; stepson Mike Rushing of Washington; sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Victor Bartkowiak, Evelyn Moszkowicz, and Rose and Gene Cegielski; one grandchild, Caden Bednarek, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Bennie and Dot Bednarek; brother-in-law, Isidore Moszkowicz.

A member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill, Julian was also active in the VFW and American Legion. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Favorite pastimes included playing cards, bingo, dancing and socializing.

Serving as pallbearers are Danny Bartkowiak, Russell Bartkowiak, Kevin Moszkowicz, Cody Moszkowicz, Dustin Moszkowicz, and John Lange. Honorary pallbearer will be Pete Mazurkiewicz and Hunter Krolczyk.

Memorials may be directed to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Building Fund.
