J. C. Co[o]ke Sr. 
Julius C. Cooke, Sr., 79, of Rt. 9, Terry Road, died suddenly early Tuesday morning at Mississippi Baptist Hospital.
 
Funeral:  2 p.m. Wednesday from Wright and Ferguson Chapel.  Burial:  Jackson Memorial Gardens.
 
Survivors: his wife, the former Addye Chapman; and one son, J. C. Cooke, Jr., both of Jackson; five sisters, Mrs. Ray Dean, Mrs. Eva Dozier, Mrs. Beulah Gilliam, Miss Minnie Cooke, and Miss Vivian Cooke; and two brothers, Albert Cooke and Henry Cooke, all of Louisberg, North Carolina; four grandchildren.
 
A native of North Carolina, Cooke had lived in the Jackson area since 1919.  He was associated with Jackson Coca-Coca Company for 37 years, retiring in 1970.  He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U. S. Army.  He attended the Baptist Church.
