Julius Knight Jr.
Mr. Julius Knight, Jr., age 88, of Winnfield, La., passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Knight also served his community as a Law Enforcement Officer, working with the Winnfield City Police as well as the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office for many years.
He was the son of the late Julius Knight and Ada (Harvey) Knight. Mr. Knight was also preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Knight; one sister, Agnes Graves; and a grandson, Robert Harper, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Vivian Delores (Stroud) Knight of Winnfield, La.;
Two Daughters, Vickie (Knight) Clark and husband Richard of Winnfield, La. Judith Ann Richardson and husband Lloyd of Saint Louis, Mo.
Four grandchildren, Robin Erskins, Tony Harper, Josh Long, and Ira Richardson
Five great-grandchildren, Lauren and Emily Erskins, Taylor and Vivian Harper, and Amanda Long
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2006 and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday, March 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 23, 2006 , with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Interment will be at Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, La.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Martin, Greg Davies, Russell Jones, Wayne Melton, Buddy Jordan, and Steve Stroud. The Winnfield City Police Department and Winn Parish Sheriff's Office will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
