Karen Fosse
August 10, 1950 - November 29, 2011

Karen Lea Fosse, age 61, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Karen was born in Houston, Texas on August 10, 1950 to Edward Corson and Mary Elizabeth (Strasding) Corson. She graduated from high school in Houston, Texas, and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree at Missouri Southern in Joplin, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Taylor Fosse on May 11, 1979 at their home in Washburn. She was a teacher in the Elementary and Secondary Education field for 19 years. She taught in Wheaton, Exeter, Jenkins, Jane, and McDonald County, in Missouri and in Springdale, Arkansas. Every summer for the past 9 years she traveled to Hawaii and taught Special Education. She was awarded the EPA4-State Region Teacher of the Year, as well as the Missouri Soil and Conservation Teacher of the Year. Karen was the creator and presenter of Aunt LuLu Enviromental Queen of the Planet program. She was an avid art and music lover, performing at the Art Fest Show in Springfield for over 10 years.

Karen is survived by her husband of 31 years, Taylor, of Washburn, Missouri; one daughter, Tacy Fosse Sierra, and her husband, Cui, of Neosho, Missouri; three sons, Kaylor Fosse, of Washburn, Missouri, Chad Fosse, and his wife, Lindsey, of Washburn, Missouri, and Matthew Fosse, and his wife, Desere, of Rogers, Arkansas; her father, Edward Corson, of Payson, Arizona; her mother, Mary Corson, of Rogers, Arkansas; one sister, Diane Snead, of Aurora, Colorado, three brothers; Mark Corson, of Arizona, Steve Corson, of Utah, and Kendrick Francis; seven grandchildren. After being told that her daughter had died, Karen's mother passed away quietly in Rogers, Arkansas.

Friends of Karen will hold a Memorial Benefit at Chelsea's in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on December 10, 2011 at 12:00 noon.
