Katherine Laverne Thigpen

Services for Katherine Lavern[e] (Antley) Thigpen, 66, of Monroe were Tuesday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Shorty Leggett. Interment to follow at Old Union Cemetery, at Cottonplant Road, Grayson.

Mrs. Thigpen was born March 10, 1939 and died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at The Oaks Nursing Center in Monroe.

She was born to the union of her parents, the late Willis Malloy Antley and Ethelene Mabelle Sikes Antley.

Mrs. Thigpen was a member of Banks Springs Baptist Church and was a nurse.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Odelle Simpson and by two brothers, Hershel Antley and Edward Antley.

Mrs. Thigpen was survived by her husband, Mr. R. A. Thigpen, of Monroe; one sister, Lou Hardin of Monroe; one brother, Charles R. Antley, of Columbia.

Pallbearers were Chad Antley, Craig Honeycutt, Craig McMullen, Shane McMullen, Justin McMullen and William “Bill” Bell.
