Kathleen J. Livingston

Kathleen Jackson Livingston passed away on December 24, 2015 surrounded by her two daughters, Sharilyn and Jackalyn Livingston. She was 92 years old.
Kathleen was a native of Coles, MS and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She attended school in Crosby, MS. On April 18, 1941, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jack Raymond Livingston. They were happily married for 52 years until his death in 1993. Kathleen was a housewife and an LSU Alumni who later went on to work at Louisiana National Bank where she retired. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 62 years. She and Jack were longtime members of the Big R Club, an organization for retired CN-IC Railroad Employees and their spouses. She and Jack traveled across the country attending Big R gatherings, enjoying the fellowship of other members. They also enjoyed fishing, going on cruises and other outdoor activities. Kathleen and Jack were members of Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
Kathleen is survived by her two daughters, Sharilyn and Jackalyn Livingston of Baton Rouge, her pets, Izzie and Phoebe, and Tom Thornhill, who she thought of as her son.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, T. A. and Enna Jackson; sisters, Yvonne Lane of Jackson, MS and Martelle Taylor of Coles, MS, and brother T. A. Jackson, Jr. of Coles, MS.
Special thanks to Dr. Richard Lieux, Dr. Gerard Dynes, Dr. Jane Bond Peek, Drs. Stephen Collins (Jr. and Sr.), Dr. Donald Peavey and Erin Michel, RN for their excellent medical care and friendship. Kathleen spent the last 3 1/2 years as a resident of Sunrise Senior Living at Siegen in Baton Rouge. She was cared for daily by the exceptional and compassionate staff there as well as the wonderful nurses from KPW Medical Services. Kathleen and her daughters always thought of them all as their extended family. Thanks also to the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge for their comforting kindness and assistance during Kathleen's final days.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 9:00am until the funeral service begins at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
