Kathleen Peavy
(January 17, 1917 - June 8, 2006)*

Mrs. Kathleen (Wood) Peavy, age 89, of Winnfield, La., passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Peavy was a loving mother and grandmother that always kept her children and grandchildren at the center of her life.

She was the daughter of the late Otis Wood and the late Anna (Grice) Wood. Mrs. Peavy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry George Peavy; and son, Jesse Peavy.

She is survived by her:

one son, Kenneth Peavy of Winnfield, La.;

one daughter, Kathryn Peavy of Dallas, TX;

five granddaughters, Kathleen Dawson and husband Dion of Houston, TX Michelle Moore and husband James of Houston, TX Shelley Massie and husband Joel of Houston, TX Natalie Cox and husband Paul of Dallas, TX Joe Anna Carruth and husband Kevin of Dallas, TX;

eight great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday, June 11, 2006 and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, June 12, 2006. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Monday, June 12, 2006 , with Rev. James Simons and Rev. James Prince officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Winnfield, La.

Bill Thompson, Memory French, Clifton French, Paul Cox, Kevin Carruth, and Rayford Riley will serve as pallbearers.
