OAKDALE, La. -- Mrs. W. A. Odom Sr., 79, of Lafayette, formerly of Oakdale, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in a Lafayette nursing home.

She is survived by three sons, W. A. Odom Jr. and Dr. James C. Odom, both of Lafayette, and Troy J. Odom of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Leo Knight of Lafayette, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Ardoin chapel here with Rev. Perry Sanders officiating. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery.
