MCCARTY, KEATON FRANKLIN

Died Wednesday, March 22, 1995, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 73, a resident of Baton Rouge, former resident of Shreveport and a native of Pineville. He was a retired Exxon Co. USA geologist with 30 years of service, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a glider pilot in the European Theater.

Visiting at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Shreveport, noon until religious services at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. William D. Peeples, pastor,and assisted by Dr. Benedict Galloway. Burial in Forest Park, St. Vincent Avenue.

Survived by wife of 52 years, Ruth Waldron McCarty, Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Rob Scheffy, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Keaton and Bonnie McCarty, Metarie; grandchildren, Robyn, Rebecca and Robert Scheffy, all of Baton Rouge, and Keaton, Sean and Ryan McCarty, all of Metairie; two sisters, Marjorie Henderson, Norman, Okla., and Betty Scott, Natchitoches; a brother, Dick McCarty, Saudi Arabia; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Prentis Boatner, John Fetzer, Lee Kincade, Joe Murray, John Parker and Gene Slagle. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Blanton, J.C. Bray, Joe Laird and members of The Couple Class at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, and former member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Shreveport.
