Kelly Bear
Kelly Bear passed away Friday, September 17, 2010. She was born May 25, 1960 to Molly Pierson Radford and Nils Edwin Spencer in Oklahoma City. She proudly graduated from Putnam City Original in 1978, then attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, where she was a member of the nationally acclaimed Apache Belles Drill Team. She graduated from Central State University with a Bachelor's degree in English that she used for the rest of her life helping friends and family with their English homework.
Kelly was an avid lover of the Arts as well as an artist. She was also a fierce advocate for animal welfare. What people loved and admired most about Kelly was her kind heart. Her humor made you laugh, her sincerity made you cry and she always had a moment to spare for friends and family alike.
Despite battling her disease for several years, Kelly constantly demonstrated her strength and courage by living life every day to its fullest. She will be remembered forever as a true friend, thoughtful sister, incredible daughter and amazing mother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nils; her grandparents, Margarett and Lester Pierson; her uncle, Bob Pierson; and grandmother, Naomi Spencer.
Kelly is survived by her daughter, Megan; mother and stepfather, Molly and Robert Radford; stepmother, Patricia Spencer; stepsisters and families: Kathy and Bruce Phelps, their son Allen; Paula and Dennis Wall, their children, Jessica and Christopher; stepbrother and his family, Mike and Liane Radford, Chandler and Megan Radford, and Griffin Radford; great aunt, Cindy Sirotkin; and special friend, Drew Massoni.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at 3:00 PM, at Mayfair Church of Christ, Oklahoma City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The World Wildlife Foundation or The Oklahoma City Humane Society.
