Simes, Mrs. Ned, 73, nee Nell Brown, died Tuesday, August 22, 2000 at the family residence in Stonewall. Memorial services were held September 2 in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. She was born on November 30, 1926, at Pleasant Hill, LA., the daughter of James Burton Brown and Kemper Martin Brown.
