BAILEY, KENNETH A. ``DONNIE''
A retired West Baton Rouge Parish school teacher with 30 years of service,
he died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2000, at his home in Baton Rouge.
He was 62 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. National Guard and U.S.
Army Reserve veteran with four years of service.
Visiting was at Rabenhorst
Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
Visiting was at Foster Road Baptist Church, 11333 Foster Road, from 9 a.m.
until religious services at noon Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Huey Moak.
Interment in Blackwater United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survived by his
wife of 35 years, Carolyn Ward Bailey, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Donna
Marie Bailey and Christie Lynn Bailey, both of Baton Rouge; and a sister,
Willie Mae Bailey Wascome, Baton Rouge.
Preceded in death by his parents,
William M. Bailey and Mary Robinson Bailey; a brother-in-law, Dan Wascome;
and a nephew, Mike Wascome.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Lee, Bob Rabalais,
Bill Bingham, Felton Emrick, Zeke Dunaway and Mike Morris.
Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Foster Road Baptist Church, members of the Lions Club of Brownsfield, Raymond Ward and Ed Ward.
He was a member and deacon of
Foster Road Baptist Church and chairman of the church building and grounds
committee. He was chairman of missions for Judson Baptist Association. He
was a member of the Brownsfield Lions Club, a past district governor for the
Lions Club, and a member of the Lions Eye Foundation Board and Lions
Crippled Children Board. He was a 25-year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Memorial donations may be made to Lions Club charities or Foster Road
Baptist Church Building Fund.
