SANDIDGE SR., KENNETH

A retired farmer and resident of Innis, he died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 60 and a native of Epps. Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home, New Roads, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Achord. Interment in Latanache Cemetery.

Survived by wife, Lanell Graham Sandidge; mother, Mary Pittman Sandidge, Tallulah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol S. Landry and Terrell Landry, Lettsworth, and Theresa S. Purpera and Dale Purpera Sr., Plaquemine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Dale Sandidge Jr. and Fanella G. Sandidge, Plaquemine, and Rodney J. Lemoine and Jeanine P. Lemoine, Innis; two brothers, Harold Sandidge, Pioneer, and Glenn Sandidge, Tallulah; 11 grandchildren, Celeste Landry Rogers and her husband, Ricky Dale Rogers, Erika Landry, Dale A. Jr., Alaina, Nicholas and Jarod Purpera, Clinton Dale and Racheal Sandidge, Jacob, Jordan and Joel Lemoine; and a great-grandchild, Dustin D. Rogers.

Preceded in death by father, Dewitt C. Sandidge; and two brothers, Wayne and Eldon Sandidge. Pallbearers will be Oscar Nelson, Bruce Monroe, Mackie Benton, Ricky Graham, Johnny Graham and Bobby Landry. Honorary pallbearers are Junior Meche, grandsons and grandson-in-law. He was a member of Masonic Lafayette Lodge No. 87.
