Mr. Henderson passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2006, in M.D. Anderson Hospital
in Houston. He was born in DeRidder and lived most of his life in
Shreveport and Lake Charles. Darryll's greatest love was his family
and his pride of being a Mason and Shriner. He was a member and
twice Past Master of Masonic Lodge 271 in DeRidder, member and Past Master of
Masonic Lodge 182 in Sugartown, and a member of the Habibi Temple in
Lake Charles.
Darryll loved music and started playing a horn at the age of 6. He continued
to play trumpet throughout a long sales career until he began a 20-year
sales career with Motorola Communications. After retiring from Motorola
as a sales manager, he and his wife Laura retired in DeRidder. He will be
greatly missed by family and friends too numerous to count.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Laura Henderson of DeRidder;
one son, Ken Henderson Jr. and wife Delanie of Bossier City; three
daughters, Sherry Rourk and husband Ricky of Sulphur, Dawn Gadapee
of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Tracy Grant and husband Robert of
DeRidder; one brother, Wayburn Henderson and wife Betty of DeRidder;
one sister, Frankie Graham of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
