JENNINGS -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, in Calvary Baptist Church of Jennings for the Rev. Kenneth F. Wall, 88, who died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery with full military rites. The Rev. William Howard and the Rev. Kyle Wall will conduct the service.
Born July 15, 1918, in Sikes, La., to Allen and Elnora Rogers Wall, Kenneth Wall was the youngest of five children. The Rev. Wall graduated from Sikes High School and later Louisiana College. He proudly served in the Air Force during World War II. After the war, Wall relocated to Natchez, Miss., where he was an electrical contractor. It was there he met and married Evelyn Moore on Feb. 13, 1950. The newlyweds relocated to Pineville, La., where the Rev. Wall attended Louisiana College. While attending Louisiana College, he began his life's calling as a minister of the Gospel. After graduating from Louisiana College in 1955, the Rev. Wall attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For 35 years, the Rev. Wall faithfully pastored churches in the following cities: Jena, Olla, Winnfield, Jennings, Church Point and Lake Charles. In 1994, the Rev. Wall was honored with a doctorate of divinity from Louisiana Baptist University. After retirement from full-time ministry, the Rev. and Mrs. Wall returned to Jennings, where he continued to study the Bible and preach for special services. The Rev. Wall loved being a pastor and loved people. His hobbies included golf, hunting, training bird dogs and reading.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 57 years, Mrs. Evelyn Wall of Jennings; his three sons, Ken Wall and wife Beth of Orange Beach, Ala., Keith Wall and wife Marcia of Jennings, and Kyle Wall and wife Melanie of Franklin, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Katherine and Olivia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Elnora Rogers Wall; three brothers, Howard, Alson and Aubrey Wall; and one sister, Eva Wall Jones.
The family has asked that visitation be 4-9 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Arrangements are by Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
