Kenneth Doyal Roper Sr.
June 4, 1924 -- July 30, 2007

Kenneth Doyal Roper Sr., 83, of Hilltop Lakes, Texas, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at his residence. Graveside services are set for 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 1 at the Houston V.A. National Cemetery. The Rev. Tony Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Kenneth was born in San Augustine, Texas, and was a resident of Hilltop Lakes since 1984. He was a brick mason and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Hilltop Lakes Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Roper of Hilltop Lakes; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Doyal Jr. and Neely Roper, both of Houston; daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Sonny Davidson of Austin and Susan and John Smith of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; sister, Marie Mathews of Summersville, Mo.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
