Ken Kelly, 47, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 in Scott County from injuries of an auto accident. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial in Johns Cemetery. Dr. Frank Thomas will officiate.
Ken was a native of Hinds County and grew up in the Jackson area. He moved to Rankin County a year ago from Slidell, Louisiana. He worked as a Production Facilitator at Milwaukee Electric Tools in Jackson and had been previously employed as a supervisor for Lockheed Martin in New Orleans for 13 years. Kent attended Pinelake Baptist Church in Brandon. He was a graduate of Wingfield High School in Jackson and Miss. State University in 1990 and was an avid bulldog fan. Some of Ken's favorite hobbies included supporting his beloved bulldogs at MSU, hunting and listening to music, especially “the blues and bluegrass”. He was also considered by his family as a “master chef” when it came to cooking on the grill.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Russell Kelly of Brandon; mother, Faye Kelly of Brandon and sister, Renea Kelly Hays of Byram. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Raymon C. Kelly.
