KENNETH ROLAND HURT

GANADO -- Kenneth Roland Hurt, 98, of Ganado, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 in Ganado. He was born April 10, 1911, in Seagoville, to the late Thomas Calvin Hurt and Mattie Pearl Haines Hurt. He was a retired Jackson County deputy sheriff and a carpenter. He was a member of Ganado Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church of Ganado.

He is survived by his daughters, Paula Chapman of Frankston and Mary ``Penny'' Elaine Zikuhr of Ganado; son, Phillip Hurt of Ganado; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim Hurt of Ganado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Annie Lorene Newport Hurt; sisters, Alice Chapman, Mozelle Novosad, Florence Ausenbaugh, Dorothy Sopko, and Cozette Legan; and brothers, Clint and Thomas Hurt.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Ganado, the Rev. Tom Wishert officiating. Interment will follow at Ganado Cemetery.

Pallbearers: James Lee, Brandon Zikuhr, Randy Williamson, Todd Womack, Jeff Trantham, and Jason Zikuhr.

Honorary pallbearers: Tray Haynes, Lonnie Lee, Cole Zikuhr, Cody Chapman, and John Alfaro.
