KENNITH WELDON WATSON

Kennith Weldon Watson, 74, of Lincoln died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Whitewright, Texas, to Robert L. and Nezzie Shields Watson.

He attended Westville Assembly of God Church and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church in Sycamore, Texas. He was a minister in the Decatur, Texas, area, a retired truck driver and a member of the Wise County Sheriff's Posse.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lewis, Ray, R. J., Mac and Roy; and a sister, Ruby Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Watson of the home; a son, Weldon C. Watson of Navasota, Texas; two daughters, Katherine Sue Pennington and Virginia Nichols, both of Denton, Texas; four brothers, Wayne Watson of Joshua, Texas, David Watson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Glen Watson of Oklahoma City and Donald Watson of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Willie Fay Craver of How, Texas; eight step-sons, Gary L. Waldrop and Daniel W. Conner, both of Lincoln, Michael J. Waldrop, Terry L. Waldrop and David C. Waldrop, all of Burleson, Texas, Ronnie Guess of Grand Prairie, Gayle Guess of Gainesville, Texas, and Arthur Guess of Boyd, Texas; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several step-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. today at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sycamore Baptist Church in Sycamore, Texas, with a second funeral service there at 11 a.m. Friday with Mike Hayes and Jack Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Sycamore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin McConnell, Cory McConnell, Clinton Pennington, Bill Nichols, Michael Waldrop and David Waldrop. Arrangements are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

LINCOLN, Ark. -- Kennith Weldon Watson, 74, of Lincoln, Ark., formerly of Decatur, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Whitewright to Robert L. and Nezzie Shields Watson. He was married to Bonnie L. Watson.

He was a retired truck driver, a minister in the Decatur area and a member of the Wise County Sheriff's Posse.

He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church in Sycamore.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Sycamore Baptist Church. Mike Hayes and Jack Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sycamore Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Sycamore Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Weldon C. Watson of Navasota; two daughters, Katherine Sue Pennington and Virginia Nichols, both of Denton; eight stepsons, Gary L. Waldrop and Daniel W. Conner, both of Lincoln, Ark., Michael J. Waldrop, Terry L. Waldrop and David C. Waldrop, all of Burleson, Ronnie Guess of Grand Prairie, Gayle Guess of Gainesville and Arthur Guess of Boyd; four brothers, Wayne Watson of Joshua, David Watson of Grand Prairie, Glen Watson of Oklahoma City and Donald Watson of Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Willie Fay Craver of Howe; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Coker Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
