Kitty Emmons Brigham
Kitty Emmons Brigham, 97, of Dumas, mother of Saline County Justice of the Peace Barbara Howell, died Friday, Feb. 24, in Little Rock.
Kitty was born Dec. 22, 1914, to the late John and Kitty Windham Emmons in Carrollton, Miss.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas, where she taught Sunday School.
Kitty was a graduate of Dermott High School.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John F. Brigham Sr.; three brothers; and a sister.
She is survived by her son, John F. Brigham Jr. and wife Ann of Dumas; a daughter Barbara Jean Howell and husband Jack of Lake Norrell three grandchildren, Neal Reed and wife, Beth of Conway, Trey Brigham and Laura Reed of Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, John Lueken and Kathryn-Ann Reed, both of Little Rock, and Brooks Reed of Conway; and a special caregiver, Isie Phene Madden.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 27, at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas.
Burial will follow in Walnut Lake Cemetery.
Visitation took place Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Kitty Brigham may be made to the Lake Norrell Community Center. These may be mailed to Carolyn Johnson, 5516 Hummingbird, Alexander, AR 72002. Chairs for the community center will be purchased with a nameplate inscribed with the message “In Memory of Kitty Brigham.”
Memorials also may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 East Waterman, Dumas, AR 71639.
