LaRue Frost Everett

LaRue Frost Everett, 90, of Lufkin, was born January 13, 1919, in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Zella (McCall) and Henry Lee Frost. She passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Everett was a retired teacher, taught at the Fairview and San Antonio school districts, and was an active member of the Retired Teachers' Association as long as her health permitted. She loved cats and was always taking care of the neighborhood strays. Mrs. Everett was a faithful member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her nephews, James Everett Ware of Houston and Gary Eugene Frost of Lake Charles, Louisiana; niece, Nancy Irwin of Houston; cousins, Homer McCall of Lufkin, Charles McCall of Tomball, Queen Stringer of Lufkin, David McCall of South Carolina, Randolph McCall of Tennessee and Dorothy Carpenter of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Rachel Frost of Lufkin; and a number of other family members and friends.

Mrs. Everett was preceded in death by her husband, John Irby Everett, on March 11, 2008; son, Edward Lee Everett; and brother, Otis Eugene Frost.

Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Everett's memory may be made to the American Heart Association , 5604 Old Bullard Road, Suite 106, Tyler, Texas 75703.

Services for Mrs. Everett will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Reverend John Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
