LaVaine “Willie” Williamson
February 7, 1933 - October 14, 2011

Funeral services for LaVaine Willie Williamson, age 78, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mr. Williamson, a lifelong resident of this area, died Friday, October 14, 2011 in Shreveport. He was a member of the Baptist faith, a retired employee of International Paper Company, Container Division, with 35 years of service and a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved wood working crafts, fishing and hunting and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Cecil Pauley Williamson and a granddaughter, LeShea Guidry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna Crisp Williamson; daughters, Martha Ann Bass of Cashiers, NC; Linda Karen Maus and husband, Billy of Springhill, LA; grandchildren, Joshua Bass, Kyle OGlee and wife, Jennifer; Ryan OGlee and wife, Megan and Samantha Bass; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Isaiah, Caleb, Ian and Scarlett; and brother, Roy Williamson and wife, Sheryl of Eros, LA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Stuart Jones, John Paul Winkler, Wade Harvey, Joshua Bass, Kyle OGlee and Ryan OGlee.
