Rev. LaVelle A. Crain
Funeral services for Rev. LaVelle A. Crain, age 76, Grayson, were held Friday, May 15th, 11:00 a.m. at Christians Sharing Christ Church, Clarks, with the Rev.'s Larry Adkins and T. O. Arrington officiating. Burial followed in Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Rev. Crain died Wednesday, May 13th, St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe, after a short illness.
Rev. Crain was a retired Baptist minister, and pastored several churches in five parishes.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maisie Jenkin[s] Crain, Grayson; three sons, Mr. Landry Crain, Mr. Dale Crain, both of Kelly, and David Crain, Grayson; three daughters, Mrs. Cassie Jo Lloyd, Kelly, Mrs. Mary Taylor, Clarks, and Mrs. Chyrl Adkins, Grayson; two brothers, Mr. Talmadge Crain, Grayson, and Mr. R. C. Crain, West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. S. L. DeLeon, Leesville, and Mrs. Velvon Hodges, Georgetown, Texas. There were 14 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard Crain, Roy Crain, Lawrence Parker, Teddy May, Jackie Dunn, and Eddie Dunn.
