LAMAR R. MCCARTY

Lamar R. McCarty, 85, of Laurel, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1996, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Prayer services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson. Dr. Dennis Sewell will officiate.

He was retired from Masonite Corporation. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. and he was a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Gordie Lackey; five brothers, James Onui McCarty, Oren O'Neill McCarty, Lambert McCarty, James Edward McCarty and Luther E. McCarty.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred C. McCarty of Laurel; five sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8:30 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
