Lamar William Garner
Funeral services for Lamar William Garner, 80, of Bryan will be held at
3 p.m. Thursday at Hillier Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
The Rev. Danny Green of Post Oak Christian Church in College Station will
officiate. Visiting hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and from
8 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at
Steep Hollow Cemetery in Brazos County.
Mr. Garner died Tuesday morning at his home.
Born in the Steep Hollow community, Mr. Garner was a lifelong resident of
Bryan. He was a retired painter and was the owner of Garner's Bait House.
An avid fisherman, Mr. Garner loved baseball, hunting and all other sports.
He was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Duward Garner.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Garner of Bryan; three sons and
two daughters-in-law, Ken and Janette Garner and Duane Garner, all of
Bryan, and David and Linda Garner of Conroe; four daughters and
sons-in-law, Sandra and Ron Rietz of San Antonio, JoAnne and Leon
Williamson and Donna and David Haley, all of Bryan, and Debra and James
``Bubba'' Sebesta of Caldwell; a brother and two sisters-in-law,
Altus and Gertrude Garner of Bryan and Lola Garner of Beaumont; 20
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
