Larkin Moore ``Buddy'' Arrington
Larkin Moore ``Buddy'' Arrington died on August 8, 2008 at the age of 91 in San Angelo, Texas. He was born in Onalaska, Texas on June 26, 1917.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bobbie Thomas Arrington and two sons, Mark Eugene Arrington and wife Mary of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Robert Glenn Arrington, and wife Lucy of Raleigh, North Carolina. At the age of 86 he welcomed his first grandchild, Christopher Edward Arrington of Raleigh, followed two years later by Kira Elizabeth Arrington. Also surviving are his sister, Betty J. Harrison of Vidor, Texas; Nephews; Dabney Carr Harrison and Damon Kyle Harrison; Nieces: Diane Harrison Hogg and DeLisa Beals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larkin Moore SR. and Ruth Stanford Arrington, sister Dorothy Cole, and infant daughter, Alice Ann Arrington. In 1950 he was married to Alice Phillips, who died in 1953.
Buddy Arrington had a richly varied life and was especially proud of his service in the army in WWII under Patton. He helped move the 101st into Bastonge during the Battle of the Bulge. Buddy's pride in his family and sons was boundless.
The family wishes to thank Vista Care Hospice, Shannon Health Care System and the many health care professionals who were dedicated to his care. Special thanks to his faithful Senior Companion, Thomas Spargo. As his Talking Buddy, Todd brightened his days. Thanks also to Steve Cole, Vista Care volunteer for the many visits. At his request, a memorial service is planned at a later date. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home.
