Laura Rawls Strange

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Rawls Strange, 87, of Columbia, were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 1997 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church west of Columbia with Rev. Bobby Cruse officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mrs. Strange was born on March 5, 1910 in Luna to the union of Albert and Pearl Mayfield Rawls and died Wednesday, October 29, 1997 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Josiah Strange, Sr.

Survivors include: two sons, Laney E. Strange of Pensacola, Florida and Joe Strange, Jr. of Columbia; her step-son, E. J. Strange of New Mexico; two daughters, LaVerne Strange Kilby of Clifton, Virginia and Leone Strange Cross of Memphis, Tennessee; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Morris Grant Strange, Isom Eugene Strange, Raymond Eady, James Strange, Kenneth Young, and A. B. Strange.
