Laverne B. Lam
Funeral services for Laverne Lam, 71, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2013, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Kenneth Baggs and Rev. Steven Lora officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 22 from 4 pm - 9 pm, then Monday, September 23, from 9 am until service time in the chapel.
Laverne, the daughter of Walter Jackson Brown and Elizabeth Savell was born April 5, 1942 in Hornbeck, La. She passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.
Mrs. Lam was a lifelong resident of Hornbeck. Some of her favorite hobbies included sewing, cooking, fishing, and sightseeing. She loved meeting new people and spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed listening to Gospel Music and she loved her Savior Jesus Christ.
Laverne was preceded in death by: Her Parents; Her Husband: Edwin R. Lam; Two Sons: Emory Lam, and George Carter; One Sister: Bessie Stephens.
She is survived by: Her Sister: Lenora Gregory of Pascagoula, Ms.; Her Children: Julia & Ellis McDonald of Florien, La., Eddie Lam of Hornbeck, La., Roy Lam of DeRidder, La., Leonard Carter of Sacramento, Ca., Aaron Joe of Suffolk, Va., William Lam of Megaheysville, Va., Anita Pigman of Slagle, La.; 22 Grandchildren; and a host of Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews
